Bob Bullock - Nashville's Premier Mixing Engineer

Born in Oakland, California, producer/engineer Bob Bullock began his lifelong career in the music business while still a senior in high school. Living in the Los Angeles area, he made his way up the ranks as a studio engineer, training under such greats as Humberto Gatica, Barney Perkins, Roy Haley and Roger Nichols. He quickly became a top engineer himself and worked with a variety of acts, including The Tubes, Art Garfunkel, Seals and Crofts, Chic Corea and REO Speedwagon. In 1981, while working at Lionshare Recording Studio for Kenny Rogers he was approached by legendary producer Jimmy Bowen to engineer for Warner Bros. Records in Nashville. Bullock commuted from L.A. to Nashville until 1984, when he and his family made a permanent move.

Renowned Nashville studio pro and audio engineer, Bob Bullock, is now the host of sound mixing and studio engineering workshops throughout the US. Bob provides years of real world advice and experience, gained through his own 30 year career in the trade. Bob has engineered and mixed for such artists as Travis Tritt, Shania Twain, George Strait, and Reba.

 
"We were challenged by top engineer Bob Bullock (Shania Twain) to design a monitor system in a small, unused dining room in his home primarily so that he could reference his studio mixes (See Home Studio Epiphany article in Library). Our instructions were to spend as little money as possible since he originally didn’t expect much or take the room very seriously in spite of our boast that we could give him an impressive system.

In the end he got far more than he expected and says he is "spoiled" by the dramatic performance of the CTD PhantomFocus™ Near-Field System. Bob, whose first love is working on large SSL and Neve consoles in commercial studios, has since started mixing his lower budget projects in "The Dining Room" and is presently upgrading all the components."
